Memotech-style ZXpand+AY enclosure
Memotech-style ZXpand+AY enclosure
At long last I have available a newly designed Memotech-style enclosure for Charlie's ZXpand+AY board combination. It is now listed on the SMR web site and replaces the original box design. This is the "long pin" version, and the "short pin" will follow shortly. I hope everyone likes it.

Martin, the silver strip behind the lettering is brushed aluminum cut to fit in the recessed area. They are somewhat of a pain to cut, but the look it gives makes it worth the effort.

And the letters are printed in one piece, and clued on?
Re: Memotech-style ZXpand+AY enclosure
Yep. The only glue I have found to work well on PLA filament is made by Loctite. The font I used didn't have a "+" sign, so I had to make one myself. Also had to use my CAD software to join all the letters into one piece. A lot of work goes into making these things.

Re: Memotech-style ZXpand+AY enclosure
Hey Mark. Charlie's AY board was shipped with either of two different sets of connector pin strips. With the "long" set each pin has a tiny "barrel" at the bottom, whereas the "short" set did not have this. The difference between the two is enough such that the spacing between the rail pairs and the location of the audio out port has to be adjusted.
You may have to separate the boards to see this clearly. I am working on the short version now.
Cheers!
Mike

The short-pin version of the Memotech-style ZXpand+AY board enclosure is now available. No real need to post photos as it looks exactly like the long-pin version. Just listed on SMR.
