Hi All
Its been 10 + years since I was last really into the TS1000 (I know ZX81 - but being 'merican I think of it as Timex Sinclair 1000) and I ran the TS1000.us site. Have spent a lot of time basically living but the past 2 years I have spent almost all my time programming the Coleco Adam and have decided it is time to get back into the TS1000 since the games and such I am writing for the Adam and other CP/M machines I use can be used on the TS1000 too. So you will be seeing more of me here.

Welcome back to the wedgy side of life!
Loved and used the old ts1000-site, so happy it is still searchable.

Hello Bill H,
I am also an American and a Hoosier! I read through your old TS1000 website. I really enjoyed it!

Re: Hello again
I have a Zx81 with 16K on its way to me - supposed to be USA version - so should I expect it to be 60 frames and 2K or? Also I will want to make the composite video conversion soon after receiving so can someone point me to the very easiest way of doing such?

Re: Hello again
I can confirm that the composite circuits for sale on Sellmyretro.com work on the NTSC ZX81 or TS1000. Removal of the RF Modulator for a space to mount the modulator requires some effort especially if you intend to put PCB in the modulator case. Maybe fish paper for electrical isolation.
I put mine in the case where the heatsink was using double backed adhesive foam tape, after I replaced the heatsink and 7805 voltage regulator with a switching regulator.

Charles

Re: Hello again
I got my ZX81 USA today - from the son of the original owner. Complete (except missing box) and works great. Interesting thing is they got it through a program American Express had where you could get the Zx81 for $99 direct from Amex, has that paperwork with it - I'll post pictures soon. I'm going to try and chase down the original 25 cassettes available for it in ZX81cases, not in the TS1000 ones
